Vanguardia Films, a production company registered under the laws of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, is dedicated to creating films with independent financing. The Vanguardia Films team achieved its initial commercial success with the romantic comedy "200 Cartas," starring Lin-Manuel Miranda and Jaime Camil, which garnered acclaim at international festivals, captivated audiences in AMC Theaters, and aired on HBO as well as various local and international television networks. Among our other notable productions are "23 Horas," "Yerba Buena," and "Shut Up and Do it." Presently, we are thrilled to introduce "Bella" to the festival circuit, while also working on the post-production
of "Casa Pura" and "La Puerta," both featuring the international star Jen-Carlos Canela in the leading roles.
Bruno Irizarry is an actor, screenwriter, and director for both theater and film. His debut feature, the comedy “Shut Up and Do It!”—starring Irizarry and Pedro Capó—was showcased at multiple U.S. film festivals and earned the American Latino TV Award in 2008.
On stage, Irizarry has performed in productions such as “Anna in the Tropics,” “Love! Valour! Compassion!” and “West Side Story.” His television credits include roles in “White Collar” and “Blue Bloods,” and he has appeared in major films alongside industry icons like Robert De Niro in “The Good Shepherd” and Johnny Depp in “The Rum Diary.”
As the founder of Vanguardia Films, Irizarry has established a strong presence in independent cinema.
